FIRST ROUND FRIDAY RECAP

GOING DOWN IN FLAMES

GARY LESSIS

You'd think I'd learn my lesson too to not pick the Bearcats.
Cincinnati blows prime opportunity so close to home.
Gary has lost his Champion.

Don Smithson and Greg Waller 2 had them in the Final Four.

WHILE PICKING HER BRACKET
SHE DECIDED SHE NEEDED A SELFIE

AND THOUGHT KANSAS STATE
WAS A GOOD PICK

At least she got the pic to post to her friends, but Amanda Carmichael lost her RunnerUp pick.

Steve Murray, Wayne Lundquist, Mike Malcom, and Heather Morris can't laugh at this because they lost a Final Four team.

MISSISSIPPI (STATE) BURNING

#12 Liberty Adds To The #5 Takedown
Ousts Mississippi State

Janet Lundquist and Giovanni Pittore lose a Final Four team.

UC-Irvine Shakes Up The Standings
Knocks out #4 Kansas State

Another #12 Takes Out A #5
Oregon Eliminates Wisconsin

Amanda Sutton 1, Emily Burrow and Greg Waller 1
Lost Wisconsin as a Final Four pick.

OHIO STATE DEFEATS IOWA STATE

NO Butler gets the same result with Iowa State in the Final Four
as they could have with the Bulldogs

THE BEST OF DAY TWO
UC-Irvine ruined a chance at a perfect Friday for Matthew Murray.
He was the only one to correctly pick 15 out of the 16 games played on Friday.

Paula Grubb was just one game back getting 14 out of the 16 games played on Friday.
Her only two defeats were Cinncinnati and Utah State losses.

There were what I would call four BIG Upsets on Friday. Liberty over Mississippi State,
UC-Irvine over Kansas State, Oregon over Wisconsin, and Ohio State over Iowa State.
There were four entries that got all four correct. They were:
Paula Grubb, Kevin Hannan, Kris Smithson 1, and Don Smithson.

In total there were 8 games where the lower seeded team defeated the higher seed.
There was only one entry that got seven of the eight correct and the one was Mr. 15 out of 16: Matthew Murray

AND THEN THE FOOLISH

We had four entries that thought that Colgate would defeat Tennessee.

Mahler Gustov, Mitchell Earley, Dianna Hawkins 2, and Jimmie Patrick Jr.
AND
Six entries predicted Northern Kentucky would beat Texas Tech.

Dianna Hawkins 1, Dianna Hawkins 2, Steve Hobbs, Miriam Maisel,
Ruth Langmore, Courtney Harms, and Jimmie Patrick Sr
