The upsets were not plentiful in the First Round. Only nine games saw the higher seeded team defeat the favored lower seeded team. Wizardry is primarily about picking upsets, but on occasions like this we have to also fall back on all game picking skills. After a review of the First Round, the Commizar has award Wizard status to a fewpeople who are participating in the year's thirty second anniversary season. Here are the current wizards of the XXXII BTS Olympiad!

SUPREME ULTIMATE WIZARDS

MATTHEW MURRAY
How did he earn this recognition? His name just kept coming up over and over again. To start with he picked the more First Round upsets than anyone else. There were 12 games where the lower seeded team defeated the higher seed. Matt picked 10 of the 12 games correctly. Of those upsets, I consider five of them major upsets and he got four right. (I don't consider 10's over 7's or 9's over 8's major upsets). Finally, out of the 32 first round games, he 29 games correctly, which was more than anyone else. Congratulations Matt for being Supreme Ultimate Wizard.

KEVIN HANNAN
Wizard status has always been primarily earned by being able to pick the upsets. Kevin's name shows up in the two categories I looked at for upset picks. He was five for five in the major upset games AND he picked nine of the 12 upset games correctly. Lastly, he was our first round leader. Congratulations Kevin for being Supreme Ultimate Wizard.

ULTIMATE WIZARDS

There were two ways which you could qualify for this elite status. One was by picking five of the five major upset games (#11 seed or higher) correctly or two, picking nine of the 12 total upset games (includes #9 and #10 winners). Congratulations to these folks for becoming Ultimate Wizards.

These entrants at least climbed out on the upset pick ledge and were able to pick four of the five Major Upset games, (#11 seed or higher). For there bravery and expertise these folks are now Wizards.

HEATHER HANSON AND MIKE MURRAY
These two were second best at picking games in Round One. All of them correctly picked 28 out of the 32 games played in the First Round. Congratulations to these guys for becoming Wizards.
